This is the first question to ask people when useing this flip chart.  Why did Jesus die?
Jesus died for us for the following reasons.
Because we are all sinners. Everybody on the face of the whole planet has sinned..
How many time do you have steal to be a thief?
The answer is once.
How many times do you have to kill to become a murderer? The answer is once.
How many times do we have to lie to become a liar. The answer is once.
We have all have told a lie at least once, but most of us would be honest and say that we have done it a whole lot.
The Bible says in Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
We are all sinners. Do you believe that you are a sinner?
The reason why we are all sinners is explained in this picture.
Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. What did God tell them not to do? Don’t eat of it, because, if you do thou shalt surely die.
What did they go and do? They ate it. So the curse of death was put on man. So when a person dies his soul is in real trouble.
Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned “
Jesus died because there is a price on our sin.
Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death…”
The price of that sin Is death and hell. Because man has disobeyed God, he has condemned himself to hell. The Lord doesn’t want anybody to go to hell, but He can't let any sin into heaven. But man sinned against God. To the Lord a liar is the same as a murderer.
Revelation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
Jesus gave up his life and laid it down willingly so that we do not have to go to hell.
Jesus has paid a price he did not owe, to help us who owe but cannot pay.
This is a picture of Jesus after he was beaten, He was taken to the cross to die for us all.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”   Romans 5:8
“…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.”   Romans 6:23b
This is a very graphic picture to show you a glimpse of the suffering and pain that he willingly suffered for you and me, because he loves you that much.
Phil. 2:7-8 " But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
Rom. 14:9 "For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living."
|" ..but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "  :  Romans 6:23b
Going to heaven is a free gift.
You cannot work for it, buy it, or earn it in any way. If you had to work for it then it would not be a free gift it would be wages.” Ephesians 2:8-9   "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God Not of works, lest any man should boast.” So here in the Bible it says that you can’t work for it.
Do you earn you Christmas presents? Of course not, your mom and dad gives them to you because of their love for you, nothing else, because their love for you is unconditional. How much more is Jesus love for you. It is much more because he layed down his life for you and me.
After 3 days and nights in the grave Jesus rose from the dead.
It proves that he is the one who can and will save you if you will ask him and trust him to do so.
I Cor. 15:3-4 “… that Christ died for our sins according to the scripture and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
Gal. 1:4 "Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:"
You must put your hope and your belief in what he said that he would do?
“Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.” Luke 18:17
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-10,13
If you will ask him to save you right now. He said that he would.
You can pray a prayer similar to this one.
Would you like to ask Jesus to save you and take you to heaven right now? It is the most important decision of your life. If you will trust him right now you can know for sure that when you die that you would go to heaven according to his promises.
If you just prayed this prayer and you meant it. Where would you go now if you were to die? According to his Word it would be heaven. That would be wonderful if you just did that.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."   1 John 5:13
What does it mean to witness?
In Matthew 4:19, Jesus gave some fisherman a rather strange proposition. "Follow me," He said, "and I will make you fishers of men." What could He possibly mean? How can one "catch" men? A simple reading of the book of Acts will give us the answer. Jesus wanted these men to become soulwinners!
We read in the book of Romans, chapter 10, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? ... So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
is not only for missionaries and pastors. Are you saved? Then
witnessing is YOUR responsibility too. The world is dying
and going to Hell.
can you reach them? |
